PrometheX is actively evaluating high-quality, multi-commodity projects throughout the Americas with a primary focus on orogenic Au, Cu-Au porphyry-skarn, and base metal VMS within Canada. We bring a fresh perspective to historical mining districts using innovative technology with creative thinking to see value where others have overlooked in the past. Our mandate is to generate future projects by identifying and advancing previously undervalued assets within cost-effective districts that contain highly prospective discovery potential.
PrometheX is experienced in a wide range of commodities and deposit types from previously serving as advisors, managers, and explorers while performing as a Qualified Person (QP).
Shannon Baird
President and CEO
Mr. Baird is an Economic Geologist with over 19 years of technical, management, and evaluation experience in Cu-Au, Au-Ag, Ni-Cu-PGE, and Pb-Zn exploration and mine geology across the Americas and Caribbean. Highly experienced exploration geologist and manager with a proven track record of identifying, discovering, and exploring high-quality projects from the ground up, including the Rogers Creek and Mackenzie Cu-Au porphyry systems in British Columbia, the Bellas Gate and Main Ridge porphyry and epithermal systems in Jamaica, and the Parkin 1500 Ni-Cu-PGE and Broken Hammer Cu-PGE deposits within the Sudbury Mining Camp.
He is experienced in exploration program planning and execution, business development and acquisitions, capital markets, project/company evaluations, project generation, lands management, investor relations, and corporate development including financings, press releases, joint ventures, spinouts, mergers, and reverse take-overs.
He was instrumental in fostering outstanding positive relations with First Nations, local communities, and government within British Columbia, Ontario, Nova Scotia, Jamaica, and Peru.
Obtained a Master of Science degree in Exploration/Economic Geology from Laurentian University.
Registered as a Professional Geoscientist (Ontario and British Columbia).
Extensively involved in every step of the exploration and development process, for porphyry Cu-Au, skarn Cu-Au, epithermal Au-Ag, VMS Cu-Pb-Zn, saddle-reef Au, orogenic Au, Sudbury massive sulfide and footwall Ni-Cu-PGE, and sediment-hosted Cu projects with several successful discoveries across multiple jurisdictions and deposit types.
He most recently left his position as Exploration Manager at C3 Metals Inc. to become President and CEO of PrometheX Ltd. and Exploration Manager of Ashley Gold Corp. He has also since co-founded Cascade Copper Corp. and acts as Vice President of Exploration and Director.
